13.  How much should I pay buyers agents?

You can sell the home yourself and not owe another cent in real estate agent commissions.  However, the majority of qualified buyers use buyers agents to help them qualify for, locate and procure a home, so you will have to pay a commission  to the buyers agent should you accept an offer presented by a buyers agent.  Although by law, commissions are negotiable, most buyer agents will tend to focus more attention on homes offering 3%, so we recommend not losing a sale by trying to cut the buyer agents commission.  When a buyer agent brings you a qualified buyer, any buyer agent commissions you may pay is money well spent.
